Hi according to the quick start guide to setting up catalook I have to install a skin before applying a template

"Otherwise you must install the included skin / container package and the skin objects before you apply the template."

but then it says:

"DNN6: Please don’t use the included DNN skin package. There are some issues with DNN6 and IE8. A new DNN skin package will be included shortly."

Does this mean I cannot install catalook from the install files provided and I need to buy a third party skin first?

any help would be really appreciated

Hi,

The way it works is install Catalook modules via the extensions.

DNN has its own skins and containers and Catalook has its own skins which are specific to the store.

The heirarchy is therefore you have a DNN Page and install a Catalook Module into a DNN container.

Skins and containers can be changed at anytime after installation so the sequence is NOT important,

This is how I normally create my stores.

1.Install DNN
2. Add my DNN Skin
3. Install Catalook Modules
4. Create my store pages from the Catalook Template
5. Add my Catalook skin

You do not need to install any third party skins before installing.

Hi
your response is much appreciated - if i get into further trouble, I'll pay you to do it!

anyway - are you saying that i can pick the default DNN6 skin?
I do have a shop skin I have purchased - do you suggesting installing that first.

I understand your point about the seperate skins but the quick start catalook suggest is quite confusing with the DNN6 issues.

kind regards

Yes, you can choose the default skin to get it installed.
If there is an issue with your browser try Chrome or Firefox and then you can apply your new shop skin after.
